Throughout its history, Cantina Valdaso has been able to adapt to the changing needs of the market.
From the 1990s to the present day, the winery has guided its members towards quality-oriented production. Aware that only a product with specific characteristics could be properly enhanced and valued, Cantina Valdaso achieved this goal thanks to the determination and commitment of its members, who embraced these changes with the belief that this was the only viable path to increase the value of their work and of their wine.
Starting in 2004, Cantina Valdaso implemented a quality management system in accordance with the ISO 9001 standard, later updated to ISO 9001:2008, consolidating procedures, controls and responsibilities throughout the production phases.
In September 2025, the winery took a further step forward by obtaining the EQUALITAS – Sustainable Wine certification. This achievement demonstrates that quality today does not concern only the final product, but also the way in which it is produced, through an organized, measurable and verifiable management of the entire supply chain: from grape reception to winemaking, from bottling to commercialization.
The EQUALITAS standard approaches sustainability in an integrated way, based on the three pillars of environmental, social and economic sustainability. It includes objective requirements and indicators that are verified by an independent third-party certification body.
For Cantina Valdaso, this means adopting and monitoring good practices and continuous improvement objectives, including:
- measurement and control of environmental impacts, with indicators such as carbon footprint and water footprint, as well as aspects related to the protection of biodiversity;
- supply chain traceability and management, in order to ensure consistency and transparency throughout the processes and, where applicable, the correct separation of certified flows;
- attention to social issues, including safety, training, well-being and fair labour management practices;
- economic solidity and responsibility, through company management focused on efficiency, continuity and transparent relationships with growers, suppliers and local stakeholders;
- responsible and transparent communication, with verifiable and consistent information regarding the sustainability commitments undertaken.
This path lays essential and fundamental foundations for facing the market more effectively and satisfying the final customer. Today, a quality wine is also a wine that comes from a supply chain capable of combining production excellence, respect for the environment and responsibility towards people and the local territory.
